RR Broadcasting - Radio for Palm Springs and beyond - Home
Gene Began his radio career nearly 20 years ago. Since
that time, he has worked at National Public Radio and
Commercial Radio Stations.
A graduate of Long Beach State College, Gene had his first
radio assignment at KFWB 980AM in Los Angeles. Gene's
first on-air job was as a Disc Jockey in Central California.
The station owner realized that this was not where Gene's
talent was and had him record late-night newscasts for
the station.
Gene then headed east where he wrote and anchored morning
newscasts and served as play-by-play announcer for local
sports teams. In the early 90's, Gene traveled with the
Connecticut Huskies Radio network as a producer.
In 1998, after a 6-year hiatus from radio, Gene came to
the Coachella Valley to restart his broadcasting career.
He has been doing radio news here in the Coachella Valley
ever since. Gene's news expertise and professionalism
makes him a great addition to the RR Broadcasting News
team.
Gene's other accomplishments are writing for the Press
Enterprise Newspaper and as Radio News Anchor for KFI
AM-640 in Los Angeles.

Gay business is big business in Palm Springs and throughout the Coachella Valley. Gay men and women are a significant part of the local population, and are big consumers and providers of goods and services here, whether it's in tourism, lodging, food and hospitality, retail or professional services. On Business OutVoice, a new program on KPTR AM 1450, we hear from gay men and lesbians -- and straight people, too -- in the business community, and about the gay community's growing place and influence in the Desert's economy. Every week, we'll talk with people in businesses and cultural organizations about things of interest to local gays and lesbians and, we hope, everybody else, too. Join us for Business OutVoice, Saturday mornings at 11 on KPTR AM 1450.
